I decided it would be fun to try to get pictures of as many different kinds of birds as I can. I'm definitely not a bird expert or a photographer. I just like taking pictures of birds with my wife's camera. I'm doing this for fun, but if anyone enjoys the pictures, that's great, too. I use WhatBird.com and the iBird app to identify the birds. It is highly likely that I will make mistakes identifying them. I would really appreciate any corrections.

A Walk Around the Neighborhood.

Today while going for a walk I got a picture of a Western Scrub Jay. It pulled some kind of grub out of the tree it was perched on. I wasn't fast enough to get a picture before the grub was swallowed whole. I didn't think I'd find one of these so easily.

A little farther down that street I spotted a California Quail. These guys are everywhere, but I was glad to get a good picture of one before they scurried off into the bushes.

One bird you can hardly go outside without seeing is the American Robin, but I want to get a picture of every kind of bird I can and I liked this guy's cool hairdo:

There are some swallows in the neighborhood that don't hold still long enough for a picture. I'll try going out at different times to see if they are less energetic.
